Watch oil washing is an important part of the daily watch maintenance , so why should we wash the watch oil?
The washing of the watch movement and pouring the lube is named oil-washing for short, and this is an important work with usualness in the watch repair. The aim of oil-washing is to keep the spare parts in the watch clean and the necessary smooth of the elements in order to keep the precision of the spare parts of the watch.
In normal situations, the watch can be oil-washed after the use of two years. And in usual situations , the work of oil-washing is carried on when adjusting and repairing spare parts.
Besides, when checking the errors of the watch, if the following problems occur, then the work of oil-washing must be carried on:
* The lube in the movement becomes sear or sticky.This will add the resistance of the movement of watch, and make the watch unpunctual timing.
* There is too much lube in the watch.This one will make the oil leak everywhere, and pollute the gadgets.
* The eyewinders come into the movement like dirt , prills and thin fiber substances.
* The gadgets rust.This problem occurs because that the user doesn’t have the knowledge of protecting the watch or because of the influence of the using environment ( like work high under the ground or underwater ) or the bad sealability of the watchcase.
And after oil-wahing, what standard should the watch get to? How can we judge the efforts after oil-washing? There are some methods for you watch fans to reference.
* The watchcase and the engine body should be very clean and has no old grease marks , dirt or fingerprints.
* The installation of the engine body should be right.
* The oil should be with right amount , and all the places which need oil should be with oil, all the places which don’t need oil should not be with oil.
* The daily inaccuracy should be less than 45 seconds.
